HOW TO MAKE COCONUT CHIA DRAGON FRUIT SMOOTHIE JARS
The base layer for our dragon fruit smoothie parfaits will consist of a coconut chia pudding. If you haven’t yet tried it, but are on the hunt for a simple yet satisfying breakfast, make it right away!
In 3 minutes you will have it all mixed it up and put aside for the next morning. When you wake up, you will have a delicious chia seed pudding.
We could go on and on about chia seeds, but we will spare your time and let you know some facts about chia seeds. In only an ounce of chia seeds, there are:
- 4.4 grams protein
- 8.6 grams fat (5 of which are omega-3s)
- 10.6 grams fiber
- 0.6 milligram manganese (30% DV)
- 265 milligrams phosphorus (27% DV)
- 177 milligrams calcium (18% DV)
- 1 milligram zinc (7% DV)
- 0.1 milligram copper (3% DV)
- 44.8 milligrams potassium (1% DV)
They are also filled with antioxidants. We just wanted to let you know that chia seeds are incredible. Also, there are only 137 calories and 13.4 grams of carbohydrates (mostly from fiber). Chia seeds are a part of our daily nutrition, and we add them to every smoothie bowl that we make.
We purchase chia seeds in bulk. They last a long time (speaking from our experience: be very careful when pouring the chia seeds into another container, they are no fun to clean up).
Our chia seed pudding is made with coconut milk, and to add a tropical sweetness, we add some shredded coconut. Then we top it all of with a banana and dragon fruit powder.
It is effortless to make. If you prefer any other milk like soy, almond, or “real” milk, go for it! It is up to you to pick what you want. Even tho we think coconut milk really compliments it makes it more fun.
When you wake up to such a delicious and colorful breakfast, it really brightens your morning. Also, you prepared the chia pudding night before, leaving you with fewer things to worry about.
All that’s left to do in the morning is blend the frozen bananas with the dragon fruit powder and pour it over the chia pudding. Then grab a spoon and enjoy your energy for the day with the dragon fruit smoothie jar.
As an extra, we topped our delicious coconut chia dragon fruit smoothie bowl with additional coconut and some fresh fruit. Starfruit is another tropical fruit that you don’t see all the time but it looks super fun when you add the starfruit to the smoothie bowl. We can still find them in our old, regular grocery store, lucky us.
